For the past two years in Birmingham’s underground scene there have been countless names to break through and leave their mark in their own ways . However, there is one name that consistently reappears Fleur Shore.
Whilst seemingly coming out of nowhere - but with Fleur’s consistency, flare and a strong dose of individuality has earnt the respect from her peers across the city and further afield.
Fleur’s emergence has owed a lot to fellow local lad and big bassline aficionado Tom Shorterz, who is renowned for his high octane filled sets and high quality productions, catching his eye in such a competitive scene speaks volumes for Fleur’s undoubted talent. Fleur instantly impressed Tom during her debut residency at Hogtown in Tamworth. This led to Tom offering her a chance to showcase her DJ skills on a bigger stage
Since then Fleur has been appearing on line ups across the UK becoming renowned not just for track selection - intertwining classic house and disco, or peak time techno, sub-genres of Chicago house and the emerging deeper minimal sounds - but for her mesmerising turntablism skills. This is grabbing the attention of her peers, clubbers and promoters making Fleur an ‘in-demand’ selector having already performed at iconic parties and venues; Amusement 13 Blackbox, 02:31 at Crane, EGG London, Lab 11 Portal, Rainbow, Sankeys London at Studio 338 and VOID.
On a trip to dance music’s mecca in the summer of 2017 Fleur found herself in demand once again playing alongside ABODE resident Ellie Cocks and Hauswerks, playing at Eden for the Audio Rehab party and to boot her performances attracted the attention of the Do Not Sleep crew who invited her to showcase her skills at Sankeys alongside the big boss Darius Syrossian, Catz n’ Dogz and Josh Butler.
Arguably one of the most notable moments of Fleur’s burgeoning DJ career is turning the head Hannah Wants through her Hannah Wants DJ competition in 2017 which resulted in Fleur supporting her at Liquid Rooms, Edinburgh on Hannah Wants Play Tour.
With all this achieved so early on 2018 and beyond promises to add more memorable moments to the Fleur Shore story.
