Waitz (Matteo Cingolani) comes from a world far removed from the hooky yet heady tech-house grooves he is fast becoming known for. In 2009 Matteo begun his first forays into the dance music landscape, attending numerous parties. Matteo was instantly lured by the rhythmic sounds of breakbeat, hip-hop and funk convincing him to learn how to DJ.

After a number of years DJ'ing Matteo's desire to create his own sounds for his sets led to him taking up production in 2013. He set upon the task of honing his production skills with true dedication which resulted in the birth of Waitz and his debut E.P. release titled 'Freak This' in January 2016 on Safe Music. If that wasn't enough 'Teachin' from the 'Freak This' E.P. reached #4 in the Traxsource Tech House Chart.

Since then Matteo has gone onto release on massive labels Defected, Elrow, Madtech and Simma Black in the space on 18 months.

Matteo has found the support from fans has been equally forthcoming from his peers from the likes of;  Claude Von Stroke, Franky Rizardo, Gene Farris, Joseph Capriati, Low Steppa, Neverdogs, Paco Osuna, Raffa FL, Ramiro Lopez, Reelow, Sam Divine, Simone Vitullo, Stacey Pullen & Waff with the list continually growing.

Also featuring several times on BBC Radio 1 on Pete Tong's Tag Team mix with Erick Morillo dropping 'Shake Your Body' and TCTS guestmix on Mistajam's show.

All of which has culminated in Waitz having a busy 2017 touring from making his debut at new superclub Hi Ibiza, playing week in week out in his homeland Italy and more recently in Slovenia, Netherlands at the mammoth annual ADE and fresh off the back of a successful Russia tour at the beginning of 2018. With tour dates filling up thick and fast with UK and South America tours confirmed for 2018 it is clear to see why there is a scramble to book Waitz.
